Igone Etxeberria Arritxabal

Igone Etxeberria holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Behavioural Therapy and Neuro-psychology. She is doing her Doctoral thesis on the Emotions in the oldest old in the Basic Processes Department at the Universidad del País Vasco.

Her research interest focuses on the Influence of Psychosocial and emotional processes in the Health related quality of life (HRQoL) and in real health. Particularly her interest centres on the study of the emotions and the regulation of emotions in elderly people with special focus on the oldest old (85+) and centenarians. She aims to analyze the relationship between emotions their regulation and HRQoL, objective health and psychosocial factors.

She has written numerous papers to different international meetings and conferences in the field of attention to elderly people.  As well as her colleagues at Ingema, she has been awarded by Fundación Colegio de Huérfanos de Hacienda 2007 to Social Research and Studies, the Obra Social Caja Madrid 2005 Award to the Best Social Study and the Infanta Crsitina Award in  2008 to Studies on Ageing and Disability.

Nowadays she is working at Fundación INGEMA as a researcher in the field of aging, caregiving and disability.
