Alba Mateos, degree in Biotechnology from the University of León (2010), Masters degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2011). She carried out her End of Master´s Project in the Stem Cells and Cancer group at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) where she studied the effect of hypoxia in pancreatic Cancer Stem Cells (CSCs). Previously, she joined Dr. Edwalds-Gilbert´s molecular biology lab in the Keck Science Centre (Claremont Colleges, 2009-2010) where she studied the role of the enzyme Prp43 in Saccharomyces Cerevisiae. On July 2011 she joined Ingema as a PhD candidate, where she is currently studying the role of sialic acid metabolism and physical activity in preventing Alzheimer´s Disease.
