Ingema Foundation is currently participating in RING (Transferring support for caregivers), a project co-financed by the European Commission (LLP-LDV-TOI-09-IT-0446). The aim of the project is to strengthen the ability of caregivers (health professionals or salaried caregivers, especially immigrants) when caring for people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia.
The project was launched in October 2009 for a period of 24 months and
Italian, Romanian, Turkish and Spanish organizations take part. In San Sebastian, like in each of the countries, immigrant caregivers have undergone a training process through a psycho-educational programme devised and validated by Ingema Foundation, together with other elements contributed by the Italian partners. A brief questionnaire has been created to find out the opinions of the different agents on whether this training has been valuable or useful.
